Welcome to Shade Tree Kennels, the “Home of the Pointing Labrador”.   We are located in La Center, WA about 20 miles north of Portland, OR.  We are a small private kennel in business to breed only the best AKC/APLA Yellow Pointing Labrador’s  available on the west coast. We want our dogs to hunt hard, have staunch points, great noses, be excellent retrievers with strong drive and marking ability and be your companion and family dog as well. That’s a pretty tall order for most dogs.  Not at Shade Tree Kennels.

We back our dogs with only the best of bloodlines. Grand Master Pointing Retriever and National Field Trial Champions? They’re in our pedigree’s.  Hall of Fame honored retrievers?  You bet.  If it’s proven working bloodlines you want, you’ve found them here at Shade Tree Kennels.
